Emily Benni
Principal

Emily Benni brings over 20 years of experience in education, marked by a deep commitment to student-centered learning and community engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Notre Dame College and a Master of Education in Transformational Leadership from Aspen University. Additionally, she completed her Principal Preparation Program at Ashland University and is licensed as a Teacher in English Language Arts as well as a certified Principal.
Throughout her career, Emily has held a variety of leadership and instructional roles, including Parent Engagement Coordinator, Language Arts Department Chair, Curriculum Coordinator, Curriculum Consultant, Executive Functioning Instructor, and RESA Mentor. Each role has strengthened her belief in the power of strong relationships and innovative teaching practices to transform educational outcomes.
Emily was inspired to become an educator out of a desire to help all children access a quality education—something she saw lacking in her own early school experiences. Motivated by the evolving landscape of education and its increasing responsiveness to students’ diverse needs, she set out to be a part of the change, helping to ensure that instruction is inclusive, engaging, and impactful.
Her vision as a school leader is grounded in the belief that high-quality education is built on a foundation of strong partnerships between educators, families, and the broader community. She aims to sustain academic excellence through the school’s innovative “Blitz” programming, strategic use of technology, and a focus on leadership and character development. Under her leadership, the school continues to exceed grade-level expectations on standardized assessments while fostering a lifelong love of learning in students.
Central to Emily’s leadership style is a dedication to cultivating a positive and supportive school culture. She prioritizes open communication, family involvement, and collaborative decision-making, believing that student success thrives in environments where all stakeholders feel valued and connected.
Outside of her professional life, Emily is an avid reader and seasoned traveler. She has visited 15 countries, explored many U.S. states, and enjoys reading approximately 30 books per year. She treasures time spent with her husband, Todd; their son, Dominic; and their two beloved pets—Leia the cat and Oliver the standard poodle.
A unique aspect of Emily’s background is her Cuban heritage and the diverse places she has called home. She has lived in four states, met her husband in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and welcomed her son in Boynton Beach, Florida—though she remains the only member of her household (pets included) who was born in Ohio.
